Evoking the rich traditions of Indian dining with a bold and innovative twist, Daawat, meaning 'Indian Feast,' brings an exciting Indian Afternoon Tea concept to the Strand Palace Hotel. Offering a cosmopolitan backdrop, Daawat Indian Restaurant has won critical acclaim from a range of press titles, including London Metro, Asiana Wedding Magazine and Luxurious Magazine.
Award-winning Keralan head chef Asharaff Valappil has recently been recognised as Curry Life's Best Chef 2016. His authentic Indian cuisine merges his passion for regional home-cooking with classic fine dining twists, cooking with 3 tandoor ovens to create his own modern fusion cuisine.
Daawat's Indian Afternoon Tea menu includes a selection of lightly spiced nibbles, all crafted using traditional spices from across India. Savouries include Bombay Burgers and Lamb Samosas, followed by delicious range of sweet Indian pastries, as well as Traditional Fruit Scones with Jam and Clotted Cream. For an authentic tea, try Cardamom Chai, or your choice of leaf or herbal infusions.
Or for something stronger, Daawat offers an impressive bar stock including ice-cool Indian beers, fine world wines and an eclectic mix of fruity cocktails.
Daawat's Indian Afternoon Tea is one of London's most original dining experiences, and can be found on Burleigh Street, just a 6 minute walk from either Covent Garden or Charing Cross Tube stations.
