Tucked away beside the river in Richmond-upon-Thames, the Bingham 'restaurant with rooms' is one of London's most unusual boutique hotels. A Georgian townhouse overlooking the Thames, the Bingham was originally built as two houses in 1740. Lady Ann Bingham, whose sister Lady Lavinia married the first Earl of Spencer, rented the property in 1821, added the room which is currently the Lounge Bar, where Afternoon Tea is served today.
The Bingham offers Afternoon Tea accompanied with river views and a heated balcony. Sumptuous and oozing with glamour, the cocktail lounge bar has a silver leafed ceiling and an ornate chandelier.
The Bingham's lounge bar, or balcony are a pretty setting in which to enjoy Afternoon Tea overlooking the river Thames. The Bingham Afternoon Tea includes delicate sandwiches, warm homemade scones, cakes and patisseries, Devonshire clotted cream and homemade jams.
Afternoon Tea is served 3:30pm to 5:30pm Friday - Saturday & 4pm - 7pm Sun
