Bettys Café Tea Rooms are famous for providing Swiss confectionery and Yorkshire hospitality in a sophisticated environment. Bettys was founded in 1919, and its popularity has continued to grow over the years.
New for 2015 is their Lady Betty Afternoon Tea inspired by Bettys best loved pâtisserie and favourite Café Tea Rooms specialties. It features a delightful selection of sandwiches made with breads from their award winning Craft Bakery, delicious savouries and two types of freshly baked scones - Yorkshire Lavender and Sultana- and an exquisite range of miniature cakes.
The founder of Bettys, Frederick Belmont, travelled on the maiden voyage of the Queen Mary. He was so impressed by the extravagance of the ship that he commissioned the Queen Mary's designers to turn an old furniture store into his most sophisticated branch yet - an elegant café in the land-locked location of St Helens Square, York.
Afternoon Tea is served 1pm to 5:30pm Thursday, Friday and Sunday & 11am to 5:30pm Saturday
