Built in 1906 as the headquarters for North Eastern Railways, The Grand Hotel is York's first 5-star hotel. The Grand revives the splendour of the Golden Age of travel, having been carefully restored to retain all of the original features of this stunning historic building, with its sweeping staircases, mosaic-tiled corridors and tasteful decor.
Afternoon Tea at The Grand is served in the beautifully decorated HQ Restaurant, offering outstanding views of historic York. The relaxing atmosphere, coupled with attentive, unobtrusive service combine to provide an unforgettable dining experience.
The venue for Afternoon Tea is quiet and friendly, with traditional service standards. Tables are formally laid for the occasion, with Champagne flutes and beautiful china. For a more informal atmosphere, Afternoon Tea is also served in the cosy and welcoming Quiet Lounge on request.
There is a wide selection of teas and treats to tantalise your taste buds. Choose from the Grand Afternoon Tea, which features classic Afternoon Tea with sandwiches, homemade scones and preserves and a selection of delicious cakes.
Afternoon Tea is served between 1pm and 5pm every day
