If you're looking for an Afternoon Tea that harks back to the refined and simple days of the classic tearoom, there is no better place to start than with Harriet's Cafe Tearooms, which have become something on an institution across the East of England for their elegant yet unfussy approach.
Guests can enjoy delicate finger sandwiches, scones and sweet treats in a delightfully 'old-fashioned' atmosphere, or even upgrade to a Celebration Afternoon Tea which includes champagne and mini patisseries along with their traditional fare. All dishes are made on the premises, many to family recipes, using UK sourced ingredients.
The tearoom in Bury St Edmunds was opened in 2001 and has become an immensely popular destination for residents and visitors alike. Positioned in a central location within the old town, we are conveniently located for amenities such as car parks and both independent and high street shops, as well as the historical attractions of the cathedral and the abbey ruins.
Set within one of the old Cornhill buildings (circa 1900) the tearoom benefits from a grand entrance and high ceilings adorned with chandeliers, with a pianist playing on selected afternoons to add to the ambience. Full of history and charm, the building has been used as a library and part of an old fire station in years past and has had many retail uses since.
Afternoon Tea is served 8:45am to 6pm every day
