Amba Hotel Charing Cross is a grade II listed Victorian railway hotel dating back to 1865.The high ceilings, tall windows, inlaid floors and ornate mouldings give the building spaciousness and grandeur. The sweeping central staircase perfectly captures the spirit of the age in which Charing Cross was built.
Afternoon Tea is served in The Terrace, which has views out across The Strand to St. Martin in the Fields church at Trafalgar Square.
In front of the hotel is a 70 feet replica of the original Eleanor Cross, commissioned by the hotel, which stood there in 1291 to mark the funeral procession of Queen Eleanor and is now recognised as marking the centre of London. Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden are both within a few minutes walk.
Afternoon Tea is served 1:00pm to 5:00pm every day
