A grade two listed building in close proximity to Windsor Castle, the hotel is one of the few architectural projects undertaken by Sir Christopher Wren outside London.
The building embraces the city and the design heritage of its namesake who was one of the most influential architects of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. He had strong connections with Windsor, his father being the Dean in the mid 1600's and there are examples of his work locally, the nearest of which is the Windsor Town Hall opposite Windsor Castle.
