Wood Hall was completed in 1750 as a country escape for the Vavasour family and remains today West Yorkshire's leading country house hotel.
The mansion was originally situated right on the banks of the River Wharfe which flows through the hotel grounds but was destroyed by Cromwell's army during the civil war.
