About
Step into a world of poetry, drama and indulgence with our Shakespeare Inspired Afternoon Tea, where classic British tradition meets theatrical flair.
The menu is a delightful blend of sweet and savoury treats, from classic finger sandwiches and savouries including a coronation chicken and Cashel Blue with pear quiche. The experience then unfolds into a show-stopping array of sweets, each inspired by Shakespeare’s plays: a rose petal and mead tart worthy of Sonnet 18, a vanilla heart sable biscuit with raspberry buttercream echoing Romeo & Juliet, a Victoria sponge crowned in gold for Henry VI, and a dramatic lemon and blood orange posset served in a glass skull in homage to Hamlet.
The finale is an Earl Grey and white chocolate mousse topped with a dark chocolate folio, a nod to The Tempest, alongside freshly baked plain and raisin scones with strawberry jam and Devonshire clotted cream. The tea is served with your choice of award-winning Novus teas, and can be complemented with sparkling wine or Shakespearean cocktails for a truly theatrical afternoon.
Swan London offers a vegetarian and savoury Gentlemen’s Tea too.
Swan London is located at the Globe Theatre on London’s Bankside, and just a stone’s throw away from Borough Market, London Bridge and the Tate Modern. Pair their tea with a tour of the theatre or a show for a truly theatrical day out!
