Our Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea will be served at Engel and Jang, Monday to Friday from 12:00pm to 5:30pm, and at Jang on Saturdays from 12:00pm to 5:30pm, from the 9th of March 2026.

Inspired by the Korean Cherry Blossom Festival, the Afternoon Tea will also be served in our Engel Live space which will feature Cherry Blossom tree installations. Start savoury with classic finger sandwiches, including smoked salmon with trout mousse and roast beef with celeriac remoulade, then move into warm brioche scones, served sweet and savoury. The cake stand brings a fresh spring line-up by Head Pastry Chef Lorena Tommasi, and for the festive period this will include a Cherry Blossom; chocolate cake in Rocher glaze with cherry mousse, lemongrass syrup and chocolate ganache.

The Afternoon Tea can be enjoyed with our new selection of loose-leaf Jing teas including Jasmine Silver Needle, Flowering Jasmine and Lily Tea, or to add a touch of luxury a glass of Hattingley English Sparkling Wine or Ruinart Champagne.

Engel is a 1920s-style speakeasy bar set up on the mezzanine of The Royal Exchange, a Grade I Listed London landmark, moments from Bank station.

Afternoon Tea is served overlooking the Royal Exchange’s spectacular courtyard, seated on velvet armchairs or plush banquettes, surrounded by murals depicting moments from English history.

The tea is prepared by acclaimed pastry chef Lorena Tommasi who has previously worked with the legendary Claude Bosi and uses her Sicilian flair for flavour alongside classic French patisserie technique. The tea includes delicate, seasonal sweet treats, fluffy freshly-baked scones and flavourful open sandwiches, served alongside Jing Teas, English Sparkling Wine or Champagne.
