Vegan Afternoon Tea at Rubens at the Palace

We were greeted immediately by one of their door hosts, who started off the experience on a friendly and warm note! Once we were seated, we got to enjoy a non-alcoholic champagne, since we don’t drink but they do also offer regular champagne, that looked like crystals sparkling in the afternoon sun when it was poured!

In addition to the sparkling champagne, they also brought out non-alcoholic mulled cider that was lined with powered sugar and topped with dried orange slices. It was served warm and was absolutely delicious!

We then moved on to the tea menu, which was packed with so many options! We went with an herbal tea and a black tea, which was served in a beautiful porcelain tea pot with steeper and cups. We audibly gasped when they brought out the tiered assortment of sweet and savoury treats.

The menu included: spiced tofu egg mayonnaise and mustard cress on brown bread, Cucumber, apple & dill Cream Cheese on Norfolk Crunch, Plant-based Chicken Plant-Based Chicken Sandwich, Grain Mustard Mayonnaise, Toasted Almonds on White Bread, Baba Ghanoush, Grilled Vegetables, Vegan Cheese on Spinach Bread, Vegan Cheddar Cheese & Plum Tomato on Onion Bread.
